Our Superficial Selves

image (4)Morning all! Prov 10.16 says “The wage of the righteous leads to life, the gain of the wicked to sin.”

The way we spend our money is a reflection of who we are. No matter how much or how little we have, we all have the opportunity to use some of our money to help enhance someone else’s life. We also all have the choice to contribute to causes bigger than ourselves but sometimes that’s much easier said than done. Society teaches us that the focus of our money should always be our superficial selves, leading us to buy the things we don’t need in a futile attempt to match what others have. Although buying nice things is not a sin, this verse reminds us that our money should also enhance life and whether that’s putting a smile on someone’s face by buying them coffee or donating to charity, every little helps. Let’s use this as a reminder to be more conscious about how we spend our money and what we spend our money on. God will give us grace!

Happy Wednesday!
