First Love

image-1-52Morning all! Ps 26.8 says “I love Your sanctuary, LORD, the place where Your glorious presence dwells.”

Like the psalmist, our first love should be God. Regardless of whether this year has been everything we’ve dreamed of or whether it’s fallen short of our expectations, we need to remember that everything we need is found in Him. We can find ourselves chasing people or things under the premise that they’ll bring us happiness, but in time, the very things that made us smile can become the source of our disappointment. That’s never the case with God. True fulfilment comes from Christ and the more time we spend in His presence, the more we’ll find He pours out the resources we require (i.e. grace, strength, peace…)  to make it through each day. As the year comes to an end, it can be a battle to stop our minds going into overdrive but let’s not forget the simple truth that God matters most. Let’s be mindful that only He has the power to calm our hearts and minds. Determine to seek God first, in the knowledge that all other things will be added.

Happy Wednesday!

Don’t forget that we’re still celebrating TWW’s 6 month birthday with a prize giveaway of the ‘Journey to Beulah’ Board Game! All you have to do is leave a comment under your favourite post(s). As always, I look forward to reading them! ♥♥♥

  1. Brill! Just what I needed today after a half-week of hearing this, this and that are in hospital for one issue or another. It’s good to be reminded that in all God matters most with the knowledge that He will add all other things if I seek Him first.

  3. This post is encouraging. It helps to focus on the lasting rather than putting your whole effort into the temporary things of this life. Thanks once again for the timely word.
