Morning all! Ps 31.15-16 says “My times are in Your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors! Make Your face shine on Your servant; save me in Your steadfast love!”
In many ways, haters are the modern day ‘enemies’. Although it’s highly unlikely anyone wants to wage a physical war against us, many of us know at least one person who is clearly not on our side. They constantly dismiss our successes and seem to find great pleasure in continually picking apart what we do and how we do it. As disheartening as this can be, we must remember that the only one who can rescue us from our “enemies” is God. Rather than taking matters into our own hands, let’s seek God’s wisdom and ask for His leading in the matter. Although it’s tempting to spend time and effort talking/thinking about our ‘haters’, the Bible instructs we pray for and are kind to them. Let’s make a conscious decision to focus far more on the God who saves than the ones who hate, resting assured that God will intervene on our behalves. Like the Psalmist, let’s pray for God’s irrefutable favour – the kind that changes hearts and opens doors. God will give us grace!
