Morning all! Prov 31.8 says “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.”
The busy-ness of life often makes us more self-centred than we’d like to admit. We can spend so much time thinking about ourselves, our wants, needs and dreams that we forget that the world doesn’t revolve solely around us and our convenience. God has given each of us a circle of influence and expects us to be aware of other people’s needs. So often we think we need to wait for a golden opportunity, a microphone and a main stage to make a difference when the truth is that God can work through us in our everyday. Choosing to be a friend to someone everyone else has shunned or defending that person who has seemingly brought drama on themselves, can be enough to ensure justice and brighten someone’s day. Helping those we can help and caring for those we can care for may not seem like game changing actions but, if someone’s feeling emotionally vulnerable, it might be the boost they need. The reality is we don’t know the battles people face in their minds, lives or otherwise so let’s commit to being God’s hands here on earth showing kindness and compassion in any way we can. God will give us grace.
