Lift-Off

Image-1Morning all! Ps 40.1-2 says “I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.”

Sometimes we can be so consumed with our challenges that we struggle to see a way out. The burden of our current situation is so overwhelming that we lose all hope and our faith starts seeping away one day at a time. The future can look so bleak that we start to wonder whether the breakthrough is ever going to happen. This Psalm is proof that things do get better. Waiting on God makes sense even when life doesn’t. He hears our every cry and is more attentive to our needs and wants than we could ever understand. Even when we grow weary of waiting, God’s grace is poured out all the more lavishly. Be reminded that God is not unkind. He takes no pleasure from seeing us in pain but He is glorified in being our Deliverer. He is the God that is more than capable of lifting us out of despair. Now, the ‘lifting out’ doesn’t always mean an immediate end to the trial, it can be Him steadying our feet and changing our perspective so we’re better equipped to fight through it. Whatever the case, let’s rest in the knowledge that our testimony is coming and we will again tell of how God heard and rescued us.

Happy Wednesday!
