Morning all! Prov 2.2 says “Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.”
Life is filled with endless distractions. Every day we fight a battle to keep the main thing, the main thing. We’re constantly bombarded with activities that vie for our attention and even in our ‘down time’, the temptation to zone out in front of our TVs or reach for our phones is unrelenting. Tuning into God is becoming a lost art form. Yet, this verse instructs us to be intentional about the time we spend with Him. Purposefully tuning into God’s presence is vital if we want to do life right. Concentrating on His voice is essential for our own understanding. We often act as if spending time with God benefits Him when the reality is; the longer we go doing the bare minimum, the more empty we feel inside. We’re sub-consciously starving our spirits of the very thing they need to thrive and indirectly telling God that He’s not an important enough part of our lives. We all know when we haven’t been spending enough time with God – He convicts and prompts us to do better. It’s time to start listening. Quite simply, being ‘too busy’ is a poor excuse. Let’s make the necessary changes to our daily routine so they reflect that God is the main priority every single day. God will give us grace!
