Morning all. Ps 42.10-11 says “Their taunts break my bones. They scoff, “Where is this God of yours?” Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again— my Savior and my God!”
Life is full of ups and downs and it goes without saying that praising and hoping in God is much easier when we can tangibly see God’s blessings in our lives. Yet, it’s inevitable that there will be moments when we struggle to see God’s hand and people start to question the length and strength of our trial. It’s in these instances that one of the hardest things to do is stand strong: actively encouraging ourselves whilst people (unintentionally) discourage us. If we know the truth, we know that God is with us in every season including our happiest and most heartbreaking. He holds us close no matter what we’re going through and is our rock at exactly the points we need Him. What we often seem to forget, however, is that He is also our only hope. He is the reason we know things will get better, and that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. He is the One who encourages us in ways no one else can, reassuring us that there are better days to come. Let’s be conscientious about putting our hope in Him – He never fails!
