Morning all! Prov 4.8 says “If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honour you.”
We’re all pursuing greatness in some capacity or another. Although our definition of success may change, it’s fair to say that part of the reason we work so hard and plan so much is because we want things to work out as amazingly as they can. We set goals and ask God to bless the works of our hand… all of which are essential. Yet, as this verse teaches, the real major key is to ‘prize and embrace wisdom’ through understanding its inherent value and truly desiring to grow in it daily. Navigating our everyday lives becomes extremely difficult if we don’t have the wisdom necessary to make the right decisions and approach situations in the right way. It follows on then, that if we’re not growing in wisdom, we won’t be growing at all. Mere lip service doesn’t cut it when it comes to wisdom. The daily choices we make to pray, read the bible and put effort into things of spiritual value (or not, as the case may be) are all reflections of how important wisdom is to us. Let’s take the time to think of how we can make practical changes to our daily lives so wisdom truly becomes the principal thing. God will give us grace!
