Just One Word

Image-4

Morning all. Ps 50.1 says “The Lord, the Mighty One, is God, and he has spoken; he has summoned all humanity from where the sun rises to where it sets.”

One word. One voice. And then everything changes. It’s a simple concept, yet one we often forget. It’s far easier to dwell on what could, should or isn’t happening and to focus almost entirely on what we think we need to do to move things in the direction we want them to go. As important as it is to plan and work hard, our role in seeing our desires and dreams made manifest is secondary to God’s. Only sheer vanity would make us think that we have the power to change our situation without God’s say so and we’d be foolish if we think that any of our achievements thus far are solely a product of our drive and determination. We all have areas of our lives we want God to transform and, without realising it, we often convince ourselves that God is probably struggling without our help. In fact, God is so powerful that a word from Him is all it takes. The reality is that the seen and the unseen, the known and the unknown, absolutely everything in our lives and far beyond, has to be obedient to God’s word. Simply put, if He says, it must be… but we have to believe. If God created entire galaxies without our help, it makes no sense that we’d doubt His ability in our lives. Let’s commit to taking Him at His word. After all, He is the Almighty One.

Happy Wednesday!
