Truth and Transparency

Image-6

Morning all! Ps 51.6 says “Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part [of my heart] You will make me know wisdom.” AMP

In a battle between truthfulness and perfection, truth should always win. Yet, in our pursuit of perfection, we forget to be truthful. We can get so wrapped up in what we should / shouldn’t be doing and how well (or badly) we’re adhering to the “rules”, that we forget that one of God’s greatest desires is that we’re honest with Him. One of the signs of a genuinely healthy relationship is truth and transparency. It follows on then that the people we’re closest to are the people we can be ourselves around. For some reason though, when it comes to God we seem to have a different outlook even though He knows us more intimately than anyone else. Despite the fact that God doesn’t condemn us, we often feel a temptation to run from Him when we’ve fallen short and become uncomfortable about presenting our true selves before Him. One of Satan’s dirtiest tactics is to make us feel so overcome with guilt, that we hide from the very God who wants to draw us near. Don’t be sucked in by his lies, because that’s all they are, LIES. The beauty of Christ’s blood is that it washes away our impurities so that once we repent, God delights in us and sees us as righteous. Let’s commit to running to God and not away from Him, enjoying the fullness of His presence.

Happy Wednesday! 😊
