Oil & Water

Morning all! Ps 52.8 says “But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.”

Without realising it, we’re often required to make the same set of decisions over and over again. When various situations present themselves, we’re left with a choice between exercising our faith and completely trusting God or exercising doubt and relying on ourselves… and sometimes, we even try to do both. The reality though, is that faith and doubt are like oil and water – they don’t mix. Feelings of doubt will almost always try to creep in when we’re faced with a challenge. However, the way respond will either build us up or break us down. If we allow seeds of doubt to take root in our mind, they’ll grow so quickly that all traces of hope disappear. In contrast, when we dwell in God’s house by seeking His presence, He’ll renew and refresh our spirit so we can see things like He does. The more time we spend with God, the more we flourish and understand the depths of His unfailing love. Let’s decide to consistently choose faith over doubt as we trust in God’s promise that He’s already got it all figured out.

Happy Wednesday!
