I did a double take when I read this verse because, as always, it’s so relevant for right now. The last few days have been filled with stories of (racial) injustice, but this verse makes it clear that we are required to DO something to stop wrongdoing. At a time when black people are being murdered and oppressed, for simply being black, passively standing back and watching from the sidelines is not an option. God calls us to ACT, in any way we can, to rescue those who are perishing. It’s not down to any one person, nor is it something that happens overnight but, if enough of us act, things have to change. Let’s continue to take ALL issues of injustice before God, knowing that He is the ultimate Saviour. Let’s be proactive in our approach as we pray for wisdom and direction to do the right thing. God will give us grace.
