Morning all! Ps 68.5 says “A Father of the fatherless, a Defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.”
It’s easy to get caught up in the promises of this world and spend a lot of time searching for things we think will make us ‘whole’. Sometimes, we buy the lie that other people are enough to fill the gap. Other times, we look for things to make us feel better. This verse is a reminder that God and God alone is everything we need Him to be and more. Yes, He’s a father to the fatherless and a defender to the widow. But, He’s also Teacher to the student, Friend to the lonely, Strength to the weak, Comforter to the sad, a Guide to the lost, Hope to the hopeless, Rest to the stressed and so much more. As the final days of August roll in, let’s reflect on everything God has been to us this year. He’s seen us through a global pandemic as well as our personal battles and strife. It’s time to stop looking elsewhere and to remember that He is our ultimate satisfaction. Let’s commit to fixing our eyes on Him and giving Him the praise He’s due for being the One who is always there, through each and every high and low.
